Make a Non-Alcoholic Margarita
Margaritas are practically the national drink of Mexico, this lemon-flavored drink consumed on beaches in restaurants and homes across the country. Legends surrounding the drink:some say it was created as a wedding gift to a woman named Margarita. And it is said that the non-alcoholic version, when a waiter brought the drink became a show girl who was allergic to tequila.
Fortunately, you can enjoy non-alcoholic version, as well as the original, if you know the recipe. If you also want to veto the tequila, here is how to make a margarita without the alcohol.
- Pour coarse salt on a plate or dish.
- Dip the rim of a margarita glass with lime wedge. Dip the glass into the salt until it covers the edge.
- Fill a margarita glass with ice and pour in the lemon-lime soda, sweet and sour mix and lemon juice.
- Garnish with lemon.
Make a Alcoholic Margarita
- 1 ½ fluid ounces (37 ml) of tequila
- 1 fl oz (25 ml) Cointreau
- 1 fl oz (25 ml) lemon juice
- Ice cubes as needed
- coarse sea salt sufficient to wet the rim of the vessel (s)
- 1 slice (s) of the lime
- Apply some lemon juice on the rim of the margarita glass (es) and dip the rim of salt.
- Shake the tequila, Cointreau and lemon juice with ice cubes in a shaker.
- Strain the mixture into a glass of margarita salt wing (s) and serve decorated with a slice (s) of lime.
