Hi...I am also mother of a 1 yr old and have noticed that once your baby gets 10 month old, his/her taste buds start developing and s/he starts enjoying textured food. At this time you will feel more relaxed, as you would not require to mash or puree the food for the little one. A baby's tummy is very small, so s/he should be served small meals; which should include servings of fruits, vegetables, poultry, fish, pastas etc. At this age your baby's milk demand will decrease as s/he will rely more on solids, but adequate amount of milk needs to be given to him/her to meet there calcium demand; for strong bones and teeth. s/he will require twice of calcium that s/he required when s/he was born. Iron is very necessary for the development of his/her brain so you can surely introduce fish, poultry, legume, wheat germ in her diet which are also good sources of protein. by the end of this stage your baby will enjoy three meals a day with in between snacks. You should try giving her finger foods which will also help her develop chew and motor skills. I hope you will find the above information useful.
