Are too many diet snapple drinks bad for my dietary plan?

I have been drinking Diet Coke as my primary drink, for about 10 years. I usually now drink meal replacement drinks about 10 cans per week, they have no calories or sugar. I don't like coffee but do go for a morning pick me up, so I started drinking green tea. I am overweight by ten kilos right now and currently my age is 30. I am cutting out both sugar and artificial sweeteners for a while. I love Diet Snapple, 8-10 bottles a week. I think that diet snapple drinks are probably better than full sugar Snapple but all that aspartame can't be particularly good for me either. So are too many diet snapple drinks actually bad in my condition? What do you suggest I should be doing?

Research has shown that low calorie diet is more effective than low fat diet in reducing weight. One of the ways to reduce calorie is swap sugar with artificial sweeteners. Drinks containing artificial sweeteners like aspartame are a rage in the market. Especially among people who are on diets. But, lot of questions have been raised over the side effects of these sweeteners too. Side effects include anxiety, depression, hair loss etc. Ironically, some even lead to weight gain.

The research results have not been conclusive but still it is important to think before using these products. Excessive in take of these sweeteners have to be avoided. You can also dilute the drinks with water so instead of 8 bottles you can take 4 and dilute it to 6 or 8 bottles before drinking.
