How many eggs do I need for making egg nog drink for 2 people?

Generally I take one egg when I make the egg nog for me only, but as now my friend is coming to meet me and I have decided to make egg nog for him. I want to know, should I add 2 eggs in the recipe or more than that? Do you think I can add some toppings to it for giving it a different texture? When should I serve the drink to him? Should I serve it hot or cold? I always drink it chilled but I am not sure whether my friend will like it chilled or hot?

You have followed the right path all through in making egg nog for yourself. Now, since your friend is coming over to your place and you wish to make another one for him, you need to know certain fundamental things about egg nogs. Basically one or two eggs are perfectly all right when you plan to make egg nogs for two. To be more specific, one is the best even for two egg nogs. But, adding more eggs than two in the drink can make the recipe too heavy. Moreover, you must be aware of the fowl smell of raw eggs? So, take a note here, the more the eggs you add, the more will be the smell imparted from your egg nogs. Consequently, you will struggle more to keep it suppressed with flavoring agents and edible effervescence.

Egg nogs are generally preferred chilled as you have mentioned, especially when they are alcoholic. But, if your friend does not find it suitable, you can serve it at room temperature.

Egg nogs can be served anytime. They can be chilled overnight and served along with breakfast or even as a great drink at the high tea.

You can always add beaten fresh cream as topping for non alcoholic egg nogs. A scoop of vanilla ice cream will also be a good option in that regard. As for alcoholic egg nogs, you can choose grated nutmegs or a few cinnamon sticks as toppings.
