Mushrooms in White Sauce

Mushrooms in white sauce can be eaten on a toast during breakfast or served as a side dish in a full meal course. Either way they are a welcome scrumptious change.

Ingredients

Mushrooms: 250 grams, Cut into vertical slices.

Butter: 1 and a half spoons

Flour: 1 spoon

Milk: 1 cup, cold

Peppercorns , whole: 8 pieces

Onion, small: 1 (cut in long pieces)

Olive oil: half spoon

Pepper, salt and ground chillies to taste

Take a pan and heat the olive oil, add peppercorns and onions and fry till they turn slightly translucent. Add the mushrooms and saute, cover to steam for five minutes. Set aside.

White sauce: Melt the butter, add the flour and mix consistently, make sure lumps are not formed. Whisk in the cold milk slowly, cook till the sauce gets the required consistency.

Pour the sauce over the mushrooms, Pepper, salt and ground chillies to taste, and let it simmer for a bit. Garnish with mint leaves or celery as per your choice and they will be ready to eat.
