Mutton cooked in poppy paste gravy

As I shared with you yesterday, there is a wide use of poppy seeds in the East-Indian cuisine. Today I am going to tell you the use of poppy seeds in the non-vegetarian dishes.

The most exciting dish is made with poppy seeds paste and mutton.

Ingredients

Boneless Mutton

Chopped Onion

Ginger-garlic Paste

Poppy seeds Paste

Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg paste

Yogurt

Chopped tomatoes

Turmeric Powder

Red chili Powder

Cumin Powder

Salt

Oil

Method

1. Marinade mutton with yogurt, turmeric powder and chili powder.

2. Fry onions in oil until brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cumin powder and tomatoes. Fry all the spices for 25 minutes.

3. Add mutton and salt, poppy seed paste and Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg paste. Cover it with a lid and cook until the moisture from mutton dries out.

4. Add water and pressure cook mutton until tender.

Garnish with cilantro. Eat the dish with pulao
