Rice Pancake with Cottage Cheese: Delectable South Indian Food

This one is for the connoisseurs of South Indian food. The rice pancake with cottage cheese! Also called dose, dosa, dosai, thosai, or dhosa, it is an aromatic dish rich in carbohydrates and proteins. Check out the ingredients and relish your meal.

Ingredients:

200 gms Rice flour

100 gms black gram de husked

250 gms grated cottage cheese

2 onions (finely chopped)

1/2 tbs garlic

3 inch ginger

1 tbs turmeric powder

1 tbs coriander powder

1 tbs cumin powder

Black Pepper

Salt & Pepper

Method:

Soak the rice flour and black gram one by one for about 3 hours. Crush the flour and black gram together in a blender. Add the salt. The mixture should look like a semi thick batter. On a seasoned hot plate, make paper thin pancake.

For the stuffing:

Saute onions in a buttered pan

Add garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, cumin powder and black pepper

Add grated cottage cheese into the pan when mixture becomes greasy

Cook till bail

Serve and savor:

Place the pancake on the plate; fill in the cottage cheese stuffing. Fold the pancake giving it shape of a roll. Serve hot, ideally with Sambhar.
