Yellow Lentils with Roselle leaves and lamb meat

As winter sets in, Indians get a stronger urge to indulge in hearty meals. Today's meal is based on lentils. Let us check how we can make lentils a hearty treat. The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients

Roselle or gongura leaves

Ground Lamb Meat

Sliced Okra

Sliced Eggplants

Sliced Bottlegourd

Crushed Garlic

Crushed Ginger

Boiled Yellow Lentils (Soupy Consistency)

Chopped Onions

Ground Cinnamon

Turmeric Powder

Slitted Green Chilies

Oil

Salt

Method

1. In a wok fry onions, ginger, garlic, green chilies and all the vegetables, except okra.

2. To it add ground lamb meat and roselle leaves, ground cinnamon, turmeric powder and salt.

3. Cook the mixture in step 2 until the moisture from the meat evaporates.

4. To this mixture add the boiled or stewed yellow lentils and okra. Stir well.

5. Simmer it for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
