Yes food network Indian food recipe are typically Indian recipes. I am going to tell you a typically Indian rice khichdi recipe. The ingredient are 2 cups of rice, 1 cup of toor dhal, 5 cloves, 1 cinnamon, 5 cardamom,2 finely chopped onion, 6 to 8 small size tomatoes, 4 slitted into halves green chillies, 12 to 15 mint leaves, 1/2 bundle corriander leaves, 1 tsp garlic paste. The procedure is Wash and cook the dhal with a little turmeric powder. Set it aside. Do not discard that cooked dhal water. Fry the onions, some cloves, some cinnamon and some cardamom. When onions are very much golden add some slit green chillies, mint, curry leaves and add a part of the corriander leaves. Keep the remaining corriander leaves for some garnishing work. Add liitle salt, ginger and garlic paste. Fry it for 2 minutes. Add the washed, drained rice and then chopped tomatoes. Fry for a few minutes. Add the cooked dhal, mix it well and then add 3 cups of water. Add some cooked dhal water. Cook it for 8 to about 10 minutes till the rice is totally done. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot.
