Give me some ideas for buffet party food?

This time in Christmas we have planned that we are going to have a blast at our home so I want to have some ideas on buffet party food. What do you suggest I should buy for cooking and what all should be there in drink and snacks? As we are around 40 people so please tell me what to buy in what quantity?

Wow! it's the jingle bells and you are getting ready for Christmas. Buffet sounds great when you are arranging for a big number of people. For Christmas you have so many items to serve from potatoes to chicken and then to bacon.

Items:

  1. Chicken should be salami for making sandwiches - 50 pieces
  2. Prosciutto- 50 slices
  3. Whole wheat bread - 2 slices per person and you need 100 slices.
  4. French Bread - 15 sticks for 40 people. Each stick can make atleast 3 sandwiches.
  5. Baked potato- Yukon gold 40 potatoes.
  6. Steamed french beans- 4-5 per person so get 2-3 kg.
  7. If you have wild rice serve the rice - 15 cups of rice.

Snack :

  1. Potato chips- 15 packets.
  2. Trail mix - 15 packets.
  3. Mini buns and chicken nugget- 50 pieces of both.
  4. Fresh salad vegetables- 5 trays.
  5. Fruits- 10 trays.

Drink:

  1. Water - 10 gallons of water.
  2. Fruit juice- 10 gallons of any juice
  3. Lemonade or punch- 10 gallons

A may save a few more items of each in case some one asks for a few more pieces. Your kitchen should be fulfilling on a happy occasion.
