Can anyone impart some details about backpacking food?

I am planning to go camping with my friends this weekend, and I want to know about a few things related to the backpacking food. Usually we carry MREs, nonetheless, I find it quite heavy to digest, and this is why I want to know about some different ideas for backpacking food. I would really like to know where can I find them, as the weekend is just round the corner, and I don’t want to miss on food in the least! I would really like to know about backpacking food in detail, at the earliest, so that we do not fret about unhealthy food this time! Can anyone please help?
