Is Indian food as good as the Indian food recipes'?

All over the channels and magazines, one can look at the lip-smacking Indian food recipes' pictures but what is the reality behind it? Are they really very delicious or not worth a try except for the chicken curry? What do you think? I want to try the coconut prawn gravy. Can you give me an easy and our version of the recipe? Is trying it a good idea?

Indian cuisine are very good but everyone has different point of view. I have eaten Indian cuisine many times and I really liked it. The ingredient are 750 gms of Prawns, 1 large Onions, ground to a paste, 2 small Onions which are sliced finely,2 tbsp of Chilli paste, 2 Bay leaves , 1 cup of thick Coconut Milk, 1 cup of thin (milk can be extracted from one large coconut, or tinned coconut milk may also be used), 2 to 5 Green Cardamom. The procedure is as follows.

  1. Wash and dry your prawns in a kitchen towel. Set it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a wok (In India which is also called kadai). Add bay leaves and then green cardamom and fry for a few minutes.
  3. Add some sliced onions and then fry till golden brown. Then add little ground onion paste and then the chillie paste.
  4. Fry it for several minutes adding little water, as necessary, to prevent your masala from burning.
  5. Add your prawns. Stir thoroughly and then add your thin coconut milk.
  6. Keep it simmering in high heat till the gravy reduces to a half. Add little salt to taste.
  7. Finally add thick coconut milk in it and simmer in medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes.
  8. Serve it hot with rice.
  9. Enjoy your Coconut Prawn Gravy. Hope you love this Indian recipe.
