High fiber food is always good for diabetic patients. They provide health benefits in lowering heart diseases, maintaining health as well. The reason is fiber is not totally digested by human body. During the digestion cycle, it passes through stomach, small intestine and colon.

Diabetic diet should be an especially balanced one with soluble fiber and low fat content. Soluble fiber is abundantly found in oats, vegetables like peas, carrots and beans, fruits like apples, citrus fruits and barley. Soluble fiber helps in lowering total blood cholesterol levels in a way by lowering low-density lipoprotein and bad cholesterol levels. Additionally it reduces blood pressure and inflammationby protecting the heart. It slows down the absorption of sugar and henceimproves blood sugar levels.

Insoluble fiber present in wheat products namely Whole-wheat flour and wheat bran, nuts and many vegetables help the patients toget relief from constipation and irregular stools. Type 2 diabetes can be eradicated with insoluble fiber diet.

Apart from all, high fiber diethelps in reducing weight loss, maintaining bowel integrity and normalizing bowel movements. Hence diet with high fiber food is always good in all healthier ways. A fiber in a day keeps diabetes away.
