I am glad to answer this question as I am an Indian and it is my privilege to answer a question pertaining to my motherland. If we thumb through the pages of the history books then we will find, the Indian food came to origin around 5000. Since we all know the fact that India has a subcontinent and which makes all the flavors from different areas of South East Asia, Western Asia and other parts of Asia to travel in the country.
Indian cuisines and many recipes emerged into sight with the Vedic period and when India was having thick growth of forest in mainly entire region. In Vedic times the country witnessed a lot of consumption of veggies, fruits and dairy products including grains. There are some regional cuisines are still prevalent in modern-day India. In the past India a large part of the population comprised of vegetarianism. In the early Indian food period the custom of eating beef attracted a lot of hairy eyeballs.
