I have heard about many certification measures and not having any clue about how many items are evaluated and get certification for the quality. I have heard about ISO 9001, ISO 2201, HACCP & Food Safety Management. I want to know the basic difference between them? Could you tell me about ISO 9001, HACCP Food Safety and Food Safety Management certification? Kindly, do not share any website link as I have already taken a look.

An ISO 9001 certification is related to International Organization for Standardization family, which is the only international standard that addresses systemic change. This certification deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, and are provided to such organizations that deliver high grade products and services to their customers. These products and services can be of any type, from FMCG to iron ore or education. You can easily trust on a ISO 9001 certified product or service as the chances of flaws in them are very less. While, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a food safety system that can be used in restaurants, school food service and fast food joints to keep the food as safe as possible. It helps to prevent nearly 100 percent harmful contamination in the food supply and ensures high quality of food item. When it comes to the Food Safety Management Certification, it tells that the food supplier is bench marked against a proven standard like HACCP principles. Mostly ISO 22000 certification is provided under it. These difference between ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 is that the later one is more procedural orientated guidance than a principle based one as well as related to any type of food processing and marketing.
