The Ingredients for making Chinese Honey Chicken

  • Buy boneless chicken pieces without skin and get them cut in 1 inch pieces.
  • You will need sufficient oil for deep frying the chicken pieces.
  • 4 tablespoon full of cornstarch.
  • ¼ cup full of flour.
  • One teaspoon of baking powder.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup of water.
  • 1 whole egg.
  • 1 egg white.
  • For making the honey sauce you will need 1 and ½ tablespoons of oil, 2 teaspoon full of chopped ginger and 2 tablespoon full of minced garlic.3 tablespoons of honey, salt and half cup water are also needed. Get some sesame seeds for garnishing the dish at the end and some rice vinegar.

The Method

Rub the chicken pieces with the white pepper and salt and keep them aside for getting marinated. After this prepare the batter by mixing the cornstarch, flour, cold water, baking powder, egg white, peanut or regular oil and salt. Whisk the batter to form a smooth batter. Put the chicken cubes into the batter and make sure that each piece is well dipped and rubbed by the batter mix. Set this chicken and batter aside so that the chicken soaks the juices of the batter and becomes tastier. Put the wok on the burner and heat the oil for deep frying. Put the chicken pieces in the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown. Fry the garlic in the oil and then chuck out the garlic pieces. The oil is now flavoured by the garlic. Now boil the honey sauce ingredients along with the oil in the wok. Spread the sauce on top of the chicken pieces. Eat with rice or noodles.
