Is making a shrimp and pear recipes (cocktail) for the holidays a good idea, how can I do so?

I am so bored of the regular baked recipes that we try out each year in the holidays and am thus searching for some new and fresh ideas. What do you think, is making a shrimp and pear recipes (cocktail)for the holidays, a good idea? If yes then how can I do so? What all ingredients will I need to make such a cocktail? Along with the shrimp and pear recipes (cocktail)? Can some other prawn recipes be served for the brunch as well? Which ones will you suggest? Can you also suggest some wines that will pair heavenly with such a seafood themed brunch absolutely apt for the new year’s? Any ideas and suggestions from you guys will be highly appreciated.
