Are the pancakes and cupcake recipe the same?

I have a recipe of cupcakes but now for a change I want to make a pancake. My friend told me that the recipe of cupcake and the pan cake is same. Is she right? I want to know can a recipe for cupcakes also be used for pancakes? What are your views on this and what are the changes you think I should make in the cupcake recipe to make it a pancake recipe? I use 2ΒΌ cups of all purpose flour for the cupcakes and 3 teaspoon baking powder. Do I need to proceed in the same manner as I used to?

The recipe for pancakes is different from cupcakes.

For the pancakes the batter has to be in a free flowing consistency, whereas for the cupcakes it has to be slightly thicker.

The ingredients for both the recipes are more or less the same. You can mix two cups of self raising flour along with three tablespoons of sugar and two tea spoonful of baking powder. After thoroughly mixing the dry ingredients, you need to add two to three eggs one by one and two table spoonful of melted butter. Mix everything evenly. Now for the pancakes the mixture should coat the back of a spoon. If such is not the mixture, you can add few table spoons of milk and mix again. In case you want to bake cupcakes the mixture should drop off from the spoon.

Generally pancakes are cooked on a flat pan over low to medium flame. Whereas cupcakes are cooked in an oven in paper cup molds at 180 degree celsius.

You can add vanilla essence, crushed cinnamon powder and chopped nuts in the cupcakes to enhance its taste. You can decorate it with icing sugar, colored sugar crystals or stars, which are easily available in the market, to make it more appealing to the eyes.

After cooking the pancakes on the low flame on both sides, you can give them some interesting shapes, like heart shape or star shape by metal cutter.
