How to roast pumpkin seeds in an oven to make its recipe?

I have just carved my Halloween pumpkin and I want to roast the seeds in my oven. I have already cleaned all the seeds off and rinsed them well. What should be the temperature of the oven? Can I season them before keeping in the oven? How long do I need to roast them? Is it necessary to keep them at a very close source of heat i.e. at the top rack? Can someone advice on how to roast pumpkin seeds in the oven for its recipe?

A delicious recipe can be prepared from roasted pumpkin seeds. Read on to know the method of preparation of the recipe and the time taken.

The ingredients required are pumpkin seeds, olive oil or butter and onion powder.

Method of preparation:

After rinsing the pumpkin seeds, the pulp can be removed with fingers. The pumpkin seeds are to be drained to discard the pulp. The seeds are to be spread on a cookie sheet that helps it dry overnight.

The oven is to be preheated to 250 F. Ensure that the baking sheet is lined with non stick foil. The pumpkin seeds are to be tossed in olive oil and butter. You can sprinkle the same with salt, garlic powder and onion powder, as per your preference.

The seeds are to be baked for about one hour with the seeds to be tossed every 15 to 20 minutes, until their color turns golden brown. Avoid keeping the seeds in top rack, as overheating can result in the seeds getting spoiled.

Take care to cool pumpkin seeds before eating. You can keep the seeds in an air tight container and you can consume the same for three months. In case the seeds are refrigerated, the consumption time increases up to one year.
