Can one run on empty stomach?

I am a 34 year old male. I have recently started running to increase my stamina. I usually run in the mornings. I don't like to eat anything before running. Can I run on an empty stomach? But then I will be dehydrated because I haven't had anything to drink or eat. I am so confused what should I do? Is eating a bagel or two with some peanut butter or a bowl of some cold cereal along with a cup of milk will be right for me? Are there any in cup drinks that I should give a try? Or can you suggest and recommend some other ideas that will help me?

I think you can have some bagel with peanut butter or sandwich with peanut butter before you start running. This would give you some energy. As running in empty stomach may not be good. Natural or home made peanut butter has lots of protein which can give you good stamina and endurance while running.

But, if you regularly run early in the morning like around 5.00 am, then you can skip your food and run with empty stomach. If you start running around 7.00 am, then you should try to have some food before you run. This is because, as you start your normal routine, your body would begin to burn energy naturally for normal activities. So running in addition to that, would burn extra calories and would make you feel fatigued easily. So, in that case, you can have some food like a bowl of cereal with cold milk. On the other hand, having one or two bananas would also give sufficient energy.

You can also have some energy drinks or home made milk shakes before you start running. But, having anything too much would also make you feel uncomfortable while running. As each body type is different, you can try having some bagel one day and see how your body reacts, and try to skip the next day and see how you feel.
