Can I get Scottish food recipes?

My wife loves Scottish cuisine. Her birthday is coming and I am all set to prepare something special for her. I am not much of a cook. However, I can cook pretty well! I have come to guys for an advice on some scottish food recipes, as now they are my favorites as well. I would be grateful to you if somebody can tell me about some scrumptious scottish food recipes.

Oatcakes are to Scotland same as a baguette is to the French. The flat cakes which are made mainly from oats have for centuries been considered a Scottish national bread. They are quick and very easy to make and make a delicious snack or accompaniment to cheese. It Preparation Time is 25 minutes. It total Time is 30 minutes. The overall ingredients. 5oz/234g medium oatmeals, plus some extra for kneading,3/4 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda, Pinch amount of salt, 2 tablespoon melted fat (goose or bacon),1 tbsp hot water.

Preheat the oven to Gas5/375F/190C

  1. In a large bowl mix together the oatmeal, salt and the bicarbonate of soda. Then drizzle it in the melted fat and stir vigorously to a thick paste.
  2. Please cut the paste in three small balls, then sprinkle a work surface with a oatmeal and then roll each and every ball on the surface to coat and to prevent the sticking. Knead each ball for some few minutes until the whole mixture starts to dry slightly and then stops sticking to the surface. Now add a little more oatmeal as required.
  3. Just roll each ball in a 3/2" thick disc, then cut in quarters.
  4. Place it on the greased baking sheet and then bake for 30 mins in the oven or until brown at the edges.
  5. Alternatively, the oatcakes can be cooked in hot frying pan, 2 mins on every side.
