Food safety differs based on where you operate. In a manufacturing unit, it is very important to keep the plant pest free. As pests like rodents, cockroaches, ants, and other creatures could easily thrive well even in garages, you need to take even more precautions to keep the food production units pest free.

Pests are usually attracted to foods, and they spread diseases and infection silently. Moreover, if the manufacturing plant is damp and dark with lots of hidden holes, then it would become easy for pests to thrive well there. So, you need to emphasize on regular pest control program like monthly check up for pests.

Apart from this, you should place restrictions on what items are bought inside the manufacturing plant. For instance, visitors or workers should be prohibited from carrying chemicals or preservatives that are not approved.

Next, you should emphasize on overall cleanliness among employees who work on the plant. Employees who become sick should stay away from processing the food items and should be completely recovered before they continue the work.

The next important factor is to check for expiry date of the ingredients you use for packing the foods. You should have a routine check to test the quality of food items that go into every pack.

Then, it is essential to routinely check the cleanliness of the machineries that are used in the food processing.
