It is not easy to give up an addiction and it will definitely take some time. The easiest thing you can do is to reduce the quantity a little every day or week. Mix some other drinks, juices or liquids with your soft drink. If you are looking for healthier options then mixing fresh fruit juices is a great idea.
One easy way out is to fill in lots of soda instead of having an entire glass of soft drink. Then add a dash of lemon, salt and pepper. Go for rock salt as it is healthier. You can also mix in fresh lime juice.
Try combining soft drinks with fruit juices to make hearty cocktails. Cranberry juice would go well. Apple cider would taste awesome. Grapefruit juice is also a nice choice. You can also add sorbet. Passion fruit and peach nectar will also taste nice.
Make it taste gingery, add in some ginger beer, ginger ale or ginger lemonade. Give a caffeine boost by adding green tea or green coffee, chilled of course.
Drink it out of frozen ice glasses, the chilled version will be milder. Soda water and grenadine syrup are always good additions. Dress it up with honey and orange zest to get used to drinking fruit flavors instead.
