I f you are really searching for something lip smacking for your family this Easter and like lots of flavor, then you should go for the most intense, smoky, unique ham recipe you'll ever taste. The ingredients are1 (5-7 lbs.) smoked, sliced ham Glaze:1 C. brown sugar, well packed,1 can (10 oz.) crushed pineapple, undrained,2-3 chipotle chiles in adobo, seeded,1-2 tbsp. adobo sauce (from your can of chipotles),1/4tsp.Nutmeg,1/4tsp. ground ginger,2 tbsp. cornstarch,2 tbsp. cold water and a pinch of salt.
You need to preheat the oven to about 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, place the ham in a big baking dish. Take a sharp knife for scoring the skin of the ham in a great way. Bake for about 15 minutes to start with. While the ham is still baking, start preparing the glaze. To make the glaze, mix the sugar, pineapple, nutmeg, chilies, adobo sauce and ginger in a blender. Blend finely until smooth. Pour this into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Now, mix the cornstarch and the water until they dissolve smoothly. Whisk this into the simmering sauce. Cook until it thickens. After the ham has baked 15 minutes, brush it with the glaze. Baste ham about every 15 minutes until completely heated. This should take about an hour or so. When this is ready, the inner temperature should be about 140 degrees. In case there is any extra glaze ,use it as a dipping sauce on the side. Serve this with baked potatoes and garnished asparagus. Happy Easter.
