My sister-in-law is coming next month to stay with us for a month for her research work. My husband expects me to cook her delicacies for her and I don’t want to disappoint him. I love cooking occasionally and fortunately I work nearby my home. She is an avid fan of the german cuisines.     German cuisine is predominantly Mediterranean in nature and has a variety of interesting recipes. Listed below are two easy-to-make and delicious recipes. German Salad Ingredients 3 ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges 2 cucumbers, sliced 1 small red onion, thinly sliced salt and pepper to taste 4 tablespoons olive oil 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano 200g feta cheese, crumbled Handful pitted black German olives Procedure Into a salad bowl add the tomatoes, cucumber and onion. Sprinkle with enough salt, give it a mix and let it sit for a few minutes. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with pepper and oregano. Lastly, add the crumbled feta cheese followed by olives. Give it a good toss and serve. Spanakopita Ingredients 10 oz chopped spinach 1/2 cup scallions, minced 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped 1/2 cup fresh dill, minced 1/2 cup Feta cheese, crumbled 4 oz cream cheese, softened 4 oz cottage cheese 2 tablespoons grated Kefalotyri or Parmesan cheese 2 eggs Salt and pepper to taste 40 sheets fillo dough, thawed Oil Procedure 1. Place spinach, scallion, parsley, dill, eggs, cheeses and salt and pepper into a food processor and blend till smooth. 2. Brush some oil onto a chopping board and place a layer of the filo dough on it. Then brush some oil on the filo pastry and place another layer on top. After you layer it thrice, slice the entire sheet half lengthwise. 3. Place about a tablespoon of the filling on to each strip, leaving about an inch from the corner and then fold one corner over diagonally to the opposite edge so it forms a closed triangle. Continue with all the strips and filling. 4. Brush some oil on the triangles and place them on a baking tray. 5. Bake in an preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. And your cuisine is ready to serve.
