Chefs are getting very popular these days, with their appearances on TV shows and access to celebrity occasions. Their passion for food and dedication has won them worldwide applause as they share their recipes with millions of fans and prepare their culinary delights. These chefs are celebrities in their own right and many of them have won their top slots through sheer hard work and dedication towards promoting exclusive dishes of international repute. 1. Gordon Ramsey

Gordon Ramsay

He started his cookery skills at the age of 19 and is the only chef to have the ten Michelin stars in the UK. He started out by working under Pierre White and Albert Roux in London and in Paris, under Joel Robuchon and Guy Savoy. He then joined the Aubergine Restaurant in London as the head chef in 1993. He is one of the only three renowned chefs in the UK with a self owned restaurant having a three Michelin stars reward. He was born on Nov 8, 1966 in Johnstone, Scotland and is one of the highest profile chefs of English origin. He appears on TV for competitive cookery and food shows in the UK and is also very popular on Fox’s Hells Kitchen in the US.

James Oliver

James Oliver is of English origin and nicknamed The Naked Chef. He has a diverse international repertoire and is against the use of processed food items. He is very famous on TV food shows and specializes in Italian cuisine.

3. Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain

He is based in New York City in the Les Halles as the chief chef with 20 years of experience in the culinary world. He has worked in certified kitchens around the world and is even a writer of both fiction and non-fiction works. He hosts the “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” on the Travel channel. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and is a reputed chef worldwide.

4. Paul Bocuse

Paul Bocuse

Paul is a supreme chef of novelle cuisine and known in France as the father of the culinary art. As opposed to haute cuisine, novelle cuisine is less opulent, stressing more on high quality fresh ingredients and loaded with calories. He created the signature soupe aux truffles in 1975 for a presidential dinner at the Elysee Palace which has gained immense popularity worldwide. This is the main attraction in his restaurant near Lyon.

5. Thomas Keller

Thomas Keller

He is the only chef of American origin to have two three star bistros and is the owner and chef of The French Laundry in Napa Valley, California. He is also the owner of Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery and Per Se and has also penned some award winning recipe books.

6. Rocco DiSpirito

Rocco DiSpirito

Rocco DiSpirito is renowned for his fusion cooking and Italian-American dishes. He passed out from the Culinary Institute of America in 1986, and did his post graduation at Jardin de Cygne in France.

7. Wolfgang Puck

Wolfgang Puck

He is of an Austrain American origin and based in Los Angeles and is a famous TV personality. He is also a business man and restaurateur having many high profile restaurants.

8. Emeril John Lagasse

Emeril John Lagasse

Emeril John Lagasse is not only a chef but a TV star and author as well. He is of French Portuguese American stock who has earned top ratings in the cooking industry. He contributed many recipes for improvement of food quality for astronauts of NASA in 2006.

9. Todd English

Todd English

He is based in Boston and is famous for his TV appearance on “Cooking with Todd English” by Connecticut Public Television. He is an entrepreneur, restaurateur, celebrity chef and a highly acclaimed author.

10. Charlie Trotter

Charlie Trotter

Charlie entered the cooking industry in 1982 and is not only a celebrity chef but a TV celebrity, author and restaurateur. He is based in Chicago and shares his unique recipes on “The Kitchen Sessions with Charlie Trotter”.
